Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between ulrich stern (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and ernesto geuvera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). ernesto geuvera acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, ulrich stern!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are George Francis, Gwen Towbar and Wesley Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for stern with that takedown attempt.
geuvera looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
stern shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

stern fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with geuvera, pushing him back against the cage.
stern wants to get back to striking at distance but geuvera won't allow it.

stern pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

and stern counters by clinching up.

stern jumps guard and drags geuvera to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

stern manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. geuvera manages to get himself to full guard.

stern stands and steps away. geuvera gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

stern will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

stern changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. geuvera tries to avoid it but stern manages to keep hold of a leg and drag geuvera to the ground. geuvera escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
geuvera wants to get back to his feet but stern is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
stern tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
stern really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

geuvera keeps control of stern as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

stern is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. geuvera can't fight it off and eventually stern manages to take the fight to the floor. geuvera looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

ulrich stern overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as geuvera accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

geuvera throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around stern's waist but stern gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing geuvera off to one side.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

stern gets caught flat footed, as geuvera shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
geuvera loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

stern can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as geuvera controls the pace.
stern has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

geuvera can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as stern is looking to escape.

stern is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
stern is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

geuvera avoids the attempt from stern to control.
geuvera landing shots from mount.
geuvera controlling the pace for now.
stern is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
geuvera tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
geuvera lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
stern is trying to escape the mount.
stern tries to lock up and control but geuvera gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
geuvera landing punches.
geuvera putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
stern flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.

geuvera goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now stern is on top in guard.
stern working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of geuvera's head.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to ulrich stern.
I think stern has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
