Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sid Vicious (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Saw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vicious comes to the cage accompanied by Sid Justice. Dave Saw has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sid Vicious!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dave Saw!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Eliza Hachem and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vicious throws a sloppy head kick and Saw moves out of range easily.
Saw looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Saw gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Vicious wants to pass the guard but Saw is keeping the position.
Saw can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Vicious controls the pace.
Vicious pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Saw is keeping the position for now.
Vicious slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Vicious trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Saw keeping full guard, as Vicious tries to pass.

Vicious tries to free his leg and advance position but Saw is retaining full guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Vicious stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Saw swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Vicious is stalling in the full guard.
Vicious has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Vicious's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Sid Vicious just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Vicious lands a two punch combo.

Vicious moves into the clinch successfully.
Vicious effectively controlling the action here.
The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Vicious for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.
Vicious tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Saw wants a takedown.
Vicious is trying to break free.
Vicious is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Saw keeps control of Vicious as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Vicious has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Saw clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Vicious has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Vicious stands up.

Vicious feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Vicious is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Saw is breathing heavily.
Vicious wants to pass the guard but Saw is keeping the position.

Saw can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Vicious controls the pace.

Vicious changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Saw looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Vicious decides to stand up, so the ref orders Saw to his feet.
Vicious misses with a kick to the body.
Sid Vicious is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Some bone on bone action there as Saw checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Vicious has taken the fight to the clinch.

Vicious pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Vicious lands a jab-cross combination.
Vicious tries to clinch up.

Vicious closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Vicious looks up at the clock and then as Saw takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Vicious smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Sid Vicious overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Vicious controlling from side mount.
Saw takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Vicious just content to control the position.

Vicious looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Vicious in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Saw is trying to improve his position.

Vicious working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

The referee asks Vicious politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Vicious prefers to stall for the moment though.

Vicious is staying tight to Saw's torso, preventing him from escaping.

That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!



Vicious fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Saw sprawls well initially but Vicious persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Vicious passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Saw!

Vicious knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Saw on the ground.

Saw takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Sid Vicious just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Vicious wants to clinch.

Vicious scores a takedown into full mount!

Vicious manages to capitalize on a mistake by Saw to take his back!
Saw tries to escape the position.

Vicious is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Saw defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Vicious is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Saw can do to turn this around?
Vicious is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Vicious gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Vicious gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Vicious apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Vicious seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Saw for as long as he can get away with.

Vicious takes a little break here. Saw wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Saw gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Vicious breaks from Saw's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Dave Saw has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Sid Vicious is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Sid Vicious showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Vicious has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
