PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Semba Rua (ranked 2239 p4p, 1822 weight class) and Benjamin Sisko (ranked 305 p4p, 249 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Benjamin Sisko was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Semba Rua!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Benjamin Sisko!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Daniel Bishop and Richard Clark.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rua misses with a wild combination.
Rua throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Rua fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Sisko manages to avoid it.
Rua waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Sisko.
Rua takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Sisko ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Sisko drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Rua defends it well.

Sisko feints and as Rua raises his hands in defense, Sisko changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Rua controls Sisko momentarily but Sisko frees himself.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Rua is on top in guard.

Sisko is looking for a triangle but Rua pushes his legs off easily.

Sisko has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rua can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Sisko is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Rua's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Rua's back!
Rua tries to roll but Sisko sticks to his back.

You can see the frustration on Rua's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
A lull in the action here.

Sisko working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Rua is doing well to defend. Sisko seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Rua is forced to tap and this one is over!
