PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Slobba Dahutt (ranked 3606 p4p, 3591 weight class) and Bulkan Mayon (ranked 118 p4p, 117 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Slobba Dahutt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bulkan Mayon!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Alyssa Summers and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mayon misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Mayon moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Dahutt moves into range and clinches up with Mayon.
Mayon takes an elbow to the forehead.

It looks like Bulkan Mayon has been cut.
Dahutt misses with an elbow strike.
Dahutt lands a damaging elbow.
Mayon drops down looking for an ankle pick but Dahutt pulls his leg out and moves away.
Dahutt slaps away a takedown attempt from Mayon, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Slobba Dahutt has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bulkan Mayon.

Mayon shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Dahutt's guard.
Dahutt seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mayon is standing up over Dahutt. Dahutt looks to escape but Mayon dives into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Dahutt tries to get back to half guard but can't.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dahutt seems a little lost for a moment, as Mayon dominates the positioning.
Mayon is looking to take a break and control but Dahutt is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Dahutt tries to buck Mayon off but Mayon is having none of it.
Dahutt on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Dahutt tries to get out of the position.
Mayon tries to move to mount but Dahutt blocks the move with his legs.
Dahutt can't do much from the bottom here.
Dahutt tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Mayon wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Dahutt definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Mayon is trying to get an arm triangle but Dahutt is defending well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Dahutt is being controlled here.
Dahutt wants to get back to his feet but Mayon drags him back down.
Dahutt can't do much from the bottom here.
Dahutt is looking to reverse the position.

Mayon thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
You can see the frustration on Dahutt's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Mayon tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Dahutt pushes Mayon away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Mayon gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Dahutt tries to improve position but can't.
Dahutt knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mayon on the ground.
Mayon working the ground and pound.
Dahutt is looking for a sweep.
Dahutt is trying to control Mayon's posture but Mayon avoids it.
Dahutt is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Dahutt trying to hold on to Mayon's head to control him but Mayon postures up.
Dahutt is looking to improve his position.
Dahutt is looking to control Mayon's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Dahutt avoid being mounted?

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dahutt wants to improve his position but Mayon is controlling well.
Dahutt pushes Mayon off looking to stand but Mayon dives back in and keeps control.
Dahutt is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Mayon is trying to control the action in half guard but Dahutt is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Mayon is taking a breather. Dahutt says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Dahutt clinches up with Mayon and pushes him back against the cage.
Dahutt lands an elbow that stopped Mayon in his tracks for a moment.
Dahutt throws an elbow but it's blocked.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Slobba Dahutt will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Bulkan Mayon's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Dahutt moves into the clinch.
Dahutt looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Dahutt throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Mayon trying to control the position but instead, Dahutt has worked for underhooks and has pushed Mayon into the cage.
Dahutt tries to work over Mayon's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Mayon tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Dahutt just stands there and leans against the cage.
Mayon takes an elbow to the forehead.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Dahutt.
Dahutt gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

That has opened up Bulkan Mayon's cut even more.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dahutt tries to throw a body punch but Mayon avoids it by throwing Dahutt back against the cage.
Mayon avoids a wild elbow strike from Dahutt.
Dahutt lands a nice elbow.

The cut above Bulkan Mayon's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

Dahutt lands a vicious elbow to the side of Mayon's head that scrambles his senses and sends him wobbling down to the canvas! Dahutt tries to finish him with strikes but Mayon still seems able to defend himself so Dahutt steps back and lets Mayon get back to his feet - he wants no part of the ground game.

Mayon is rocked!

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Bulkan Mayon's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Slobba Dahutt!
