Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Hugo Loris (ranked 1575 p4p, 1477 weight class) and Prohor Georgiev (ranked 167 p4p, 157 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hugo Loris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 10 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Prohor Georgiev!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Stewart Dunkirk and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Loris misses with an attempted mid kick.

Georgiev looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Prohor Georgiev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Loris throws a hook but Georgiev blocks it.
Loris loads up on a big right hand but Georgiev slips the punch.
Georgiev fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Loris has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Georgiev takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Loris throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Loris throws a lazy right hand but Georgiev sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Loris will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Loris shoots in looking for a takedown. Georgiev tries to sprawl out of it but Loris keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Georgiev manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Loris shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Georgiev looks to land a body kick but Loris moved away.

Georgiev appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Georgiev lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Loris has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Loris and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Loris changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Georgiev looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Loris escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Georgiev gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Georgiev is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Loris seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Georgiev is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Loris will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Loris tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Georgiev wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Georgiev tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Georgiev has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Loris got a little sloppy there for a moment and Georgiev has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Loris has managed to get both his arms back between Georgiev's legs - danger averted.

Georgiev has his foot on Loris's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Loris works his way back into a safe position though.
