Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steve Holt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zaney Bob (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Steve Holt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Zaney Bob!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holt fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Bob on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.


It looks like Zaney Bob has been cut.
Bob ducks straight into an uppercut from Holt and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Bob maanges to regain guard straight away.


Bob is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Holt landing with the ground and pound.
Bob is still in real trouble! Can Holt finish him?

Bob looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Bob seems to have recovered his senses.
Holt controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Holt tries to stand but Bob is controlling from the bottom.

Bob is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Holt could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Holt works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Bob looks gassed!
Holt is keen to just control but Bob is a slippery customer.
Bob on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Holt decides to return to a standing position.
Bob fails with the takedown.
Holt catches Bob napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Bob to the canvas!

Bob is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Holt trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Holt wants to pass the guard but Bob is keeping the position.
Holt postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Holt wants to control from the top but Bob keeps moving.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Bob has his foot on Holt's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Holt works his way back into a safe position though.

Bob looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Bob walks into a straight right hand from Holt.


That has opened up Zaney Bob's cut even more.

Holt closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Holt lands in his opponent's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Holt wanted to stand there but Bob had control of the position.

Bob keeping moving, preventing Holt from controlling successfully.

Bob looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Holt is defending well. Bob quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Holt has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Bob celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:03 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Zaney Bob!
