PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bad Dawg (ranked 2500 p4p, 5323 weight class) and Chandler Buffay (ranked 331 p4p, 546 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Sam Margolis and James Ackerman.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dawg throws a body punch but Buffay moves out of range.
Dawg looks to score with a jab to the body but Buffay is just out of range.
A slow jab from Dawg misses its intended target.
Buffay uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Dawg.
Dawg connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Dawg lands a jab to Buffay's midsection.
A head kick misses from Buffay.
Dawg lands a jab to Buffay's midsection.
Buffay doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Buffay uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Dawg.
Dawg misses with a wild body shot.
Buffay fails with the takedown.
Dawg slips under a jab from Buffay.
Dawg scores with a hook to the body. Buffay takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Dawg lands a right hook to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Dawg jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Buffay avoids the body shot from Dawg.
Dawg tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Buffay was well out of range. Poor timing from Dawg.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Buffay has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Nice straight punches there by Dawg. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Dawg.
Buffay fails in his attempt to clinch.
Buffay throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Dawg just misses with a punch to the body.
Dawg misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Buffay.
Dawg keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
A jab lands there for Dawg.
Dawg tests Buffay's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Dawg throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Buffay takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Dawg fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Buffay manages to avoid it.
Buffay lands a two punch combo.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Buffay is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Buffay is rocked!
Dawg jabs Buffay to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Buffay looks winded!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dawg closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Buffay! Dawg dives in looking to finish! Buffay is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:07 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bad Dawg!
Bad Dawg tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
