Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between David Friedman (ranked 4184 p4p, 3216 weight class) and Tyler Durden (ranked 241 p4p, 191 weight class). Tyler Durden acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, David Friedman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tyler Durden!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Andrew Berry and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Durden stuffs the takedown.

Friedman changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Durden looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Friedman tries to advance to mount but Durden denies him.
Friedman advances nicely into full mount.
Friedman controlling from the full mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Friedman can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Durden is looking to escape.
Durden bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Friedman has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Durden is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Friedman.

Friedman is trying to improve his position.
Friedman is working hard here to advance position.
Friedman sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Durden moves into full mount! Friedman won't be happy about that!
Friedman working to try and regain half guard.
Friedman looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
Friedman knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Durden on the ground.

Durden trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
Well, with Durden on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Friedman is tapping out... Can he escape the position?
Durden missing with strikes from the back.

Durden is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Friedman has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Friedman can't escape the position.
Durden is trying to stick to Friedman's back but Friedman is turning into Durden. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Durden's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Friedman.
Friedman's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Friedman pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Durden is keeping the position for now.
Friedman passes Durden's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Friedman looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Durden manages to get to full guard.
Friedman is stalling in the full guard.
Friedman trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Friedman has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Durden not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Friedman tries to free his leg and advance position but Durden is retaining full guard.
Friedman's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Friedman trying to control but Durden is working from the bottom.
Friedman is looking to pass into half guard but Durden pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Durden is in guard.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Durden would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Durden passes Friedman's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Tyler Durden will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Friedman closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Durden felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Friedman is controlling the pace.

Friedman is looking for a kimura here.
Friedman trying to pass the guard but Durden defending well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Friedman trying to control the action but Durden is working from the bottom.

Durden is pressing down on Friedman's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Friedman wants to pass the guard but Durden is keeping the position.
Friedman is looking to advance position but Durden has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Friedman is looking to improve his position but Durden isn't that keen on the idea.

Durden jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Friedman is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Friedman and Durden has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Friedman is looking to reverse the position.
Durden is looking to take a break and control but Friedman is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Tyler Durden has got the better of the ground game so far.
Friedman manages to get back to half guard.
Friedman is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Friedman on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Friedman tries to get out of the position.
Durden throws a strike but Friedman avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Durden forces his way into half guard.
Friedman wants to control but Durden is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Durden prevents Friedman from improving his position.
Friedman trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!

Friedman tries to improve his position but Durden has taken his back! Durden has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Friedman tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Durden pushes Friedman away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Tyler Durden!
