Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Timur Vasiliev (ranked 1937 p4p, 3890 weight class) and Jackson Shaw (ranked 243 p4p, 458 weight class). Timur Vasiliev has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Timur Vasiliev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jackson Shaw!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Atkins and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vasiliev instigates a clinch.
Vasiliev goes for a takedown in the clinch but Shaw prevents it.
Vasiliev is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Shaw to keep the fight standing.
Shaw tries to circle away but Vasiliev has him pinned against the cage.
Shaw has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Vasiliev avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Shaw lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Shaw trying to control from half guard but Vasiliev is working away.
Shaw landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Shaw has eaten all the pies!

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Shaw tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Vasiliev paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Timur Vasiliev is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Shaw tries to pull guard but Vasiliev holds him up against the cage and eventually Shaw drops back down to his feet.

Shaw is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Vasiliev gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Vasiliev jumps into guard, dragging Shaw to the mat.
Shaw slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Vasiliev is trying to hold Shaw in close to prevent damage but Shaw has managed to pass into half guard.
Vasiliev is looking to control Shaw's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Vasiliev avoid being mounted?

Vasiliev is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Shaw pulls his head out easily.

Shaw is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Vasiliev is just riding it out for now. Shaw eventually gives up the hold.
Vasiliev is trying to maintain the position but Shaw is very close to passing his half guard.

Shaw gets tackled into the cage by Vasiliev. Vasiliev maintains the clinch.
Shaw drops down looking for an ankle pick but Vasiliev pulls his leg out and moves away.

Shaw looks for a takedown but Vasiliev sprawls well.

Shaw wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Vasiliev has him pressed against the cage.

Shaw has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Vasiliev uses from the top position.
Our spies down at at Rabid Dog inform us that Shaw has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Horrible takedown attempt by Shaw or perhaps it was just good defense by Vasiliev, which made it look bad.

Vasiliev has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Shaw is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Vasiliev ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Vasiliev no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The defeated Jackson Shaw had this to say: 'I want a rematch I can beat this peice of crap fighter.'.
