PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eliz Gracie (ranked 1343 p4p, 2445 weight class) and Fits Miz (ranked 185 p4p, 317 weight class). Gracie comes to the cage accompanied by Godzilla- Eminem & Juice Wrld. Miz is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Somebody That I Used To Know (80s remix). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Eliz Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Fits Miz!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Ian Loll and Trevor Gratis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie fails with the takedown
and Miz makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Gracie shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Miz sprawls well. Miz wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gracie gets slowly back to his feet.
Gracie closes the distance and clinches up with Miz, looking for a takedown. Gracie pushes Miz against the cage but Miz circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Miz steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eliz Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Gracie shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Gracie showed some decent athleticism there.
Gracie prevents Miz from improving his position.
Miz told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
Miz gets full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Miz looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gracie is one step ahead there.

Gracie is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Miz is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Miz has escaped and now he's on top!

Gracie throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Gracie working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Miz doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Miz manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Miz in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Miz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gracie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Miz throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Gracie is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Gracie prevents Miz from improving his position.

Gracie seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Miz is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Eliz Gracie!
Eliz Gracie took some time post fight to say the following; 'I'm very proud of myself for this win, my last fight wasn't the best result I could get, but this time I got my second win over Fits Miz, just like I wanted. I proved im the better man and he can stop his trash talking on buzz, he talked about my country, said alot of bad things, glad I got this win'.
In defeat, Fits Miz stepped up to the mic, saying 'Let me start off by saying sorry to anyone who was offended by what I said before the fight, I knew it was wrong, but I needed a reaction, something to give me some sort of edge. Eliz is a great fighter, no doubt about it, we've both been here for a while, and I have nothing but respect for him.'.
