Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jorge Matheus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Renato Augusto Augusto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Augusto's choice of entrance music: Eminem . We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Seu Braga and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matheus shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Augusto shoots and misses
and Matheus counters with a shoot takedown. Augusto fights it but they end up in guard.
Augusto is rocked!
Augusto trying to keep a closed guard but Matheus is proving a slippery customer.
Augusto wants to get back to his feet but Matheus is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Matheus thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Augusto keeping full guard, as Matheus tries to pass.
Augusto really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Matheus. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Augusto pulls Matheus in close to prevent any damage.
Matheus wants to pass the guard but Augusto is keeping the position.

Matheus drops back looking for a leg! Augusto is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Augusto manages to kick Matheus off! Matheus jumps back into Augusto's guard.
Matheus tries to free his leg and advance position but Augusto is retaining full guard.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Augusto.
Matheus gets back to half guard.
Augusto is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Augusto is looking to take a break and control but Matheus is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Matheus looking for submissions off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Augusto content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Augusto's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Matheus has his hands clasped together around Augusto's back. He's all about the action.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Matheus wants to control but Augusto is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Augusto changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Matheus looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Matheus seems a little lost for a moment, as Augusto dominates the positioning.
Augusto tries to advance to mount but can't.
Augusto trying to control the action but Matheus is working from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Jorge Matheus will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Augusto gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Matheus counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Augusto is looking for a sweep. Matheus is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Matheus not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Augusto is not content to let Matheus control the position.
Matheus thows a huge punch but Augusto dodges it nicely.
Augusto tries to get to full guard but Matheus has control of the leg.
Matheus slows the pace down in half guard.

Matheus is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Augusto is just riding it out for now. Matheus eventually gives up the hold.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Matheus tries to pass the half guard into mount. Augusto knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Augusto shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Matheus's guard.

Matheus looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Matheus escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Augusto gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Augusto seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Matheus has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Augusto can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Matheus is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Matheus is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Jorge Matheus overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Matheus is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Augusto frees his head nicely. Oh but Matheus has switched to an armbar! Augusto is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
