Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 36 - 17 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gyukosho Fujimoto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Zheko Melondov!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fujimoto has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Fujimoto there as he acknowledges the shot.

It looks like Gyukosho Fujimoto has been cut.
Fujimoto looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Fujimoto keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Melondov.
A little feinted left hand from Fujimoto on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Melondov throws a body punch but Fujimoto moves out of range.
Fujimoto ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Melondov moves away.
Melondov misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Fujimoto.
Fujimoto uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Melondov.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fujimoto lands a big head kick that sends Melondov tumbling to the mat! Fujimoto takes a step backwards and waves Melondov back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Zheko Melondov has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Melondov throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
A little feinted left hand from Fujimoto on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fujimoto misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Melondov misses with a jab to the body
and Fujimoto counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Melondov takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Melondov moves out of range of the strikes.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Fujimoto closes the distance and lands a brutal uppercut that knocks Melondov out! We're looking at the replay now - he was out before he hit the floor!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Gyukosho Fujimoto!
During a confident post fight interview, Gyukosho Fujimoto thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
