Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Liam Reem (ranked 3254 p4p, 3725 weight class) and Rocken Takedown (ranked 41 p4p, 133 weight class). Reem comes into the arena with Daft Punk - Robot Rock blaring out of the sound system. Liam Reem has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Liam Reem!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rocken Takedown!
The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Damien Edna and Francis DeMontford.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takedown missing with a left hand there. Reem was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Reem scores with a push kick.
Liam Reem seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Reem tries a head kick but it misses.
Reem lands a high kick!

It looks like Rocken Takedown has been cut.
Reem fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Takedown has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Takedown throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Reem tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Takedown is in Reem's guard.
Takedown is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Takedown postures up in Reem's guard and throws a big left but Reem blocks it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Takedown in particular looking to stall.
Reem's coaches at Arcalimon Top Team have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.
Takedown tries to pass to full mount but Reem defends it.
Reem moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Takedown controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Reem not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Takedown should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Takedown tries to free his leg and advance position but Reem is retaining full guard.
Takedown's corner is telling him to maintain position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Reem lands a leg kick that knocks Takedown off balance momentarily.

Takedown closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Reem quickly recovers to half guard.
Takedown not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Takedown scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Reem knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Takedown on the ground.

Takedown not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Takedown is nestled in close to Reem, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Takedown tries to pass to full mount but Reem defends it.

Takedown looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Takedown connects with a nice short shot to Reem's temple.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Reem wants to get back to full guard.
Takedown is taking a breather. Reem says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Let's hope that Takedown has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Reem wants to control but Takedown is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Takedown passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Reem!
Takedown thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Rocken Takedown dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Rocken Takedown's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Takedown walks forward, straight into a front kick from Reem.
Reem thumps Takedown with a low kick.
Takedown waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Reem.
Takedown keeps the fight on the outside.
A thudding body kick lands there by Reem!
Reem feints and then cracks Takedown's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Takedown down.
Reem throws a leg kick which misses Takedown's front leg but catches the back leg as Takedown tries to avoid it.
Takedown stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Reem.
Takedown takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Reem wants to clinch up but Takedown keeps it at a distance.
Reem connects with a leg kick.
Takedown is breathing heavily.
Reem lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Reem ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

and Takedown decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Reem's guard.

Takedown slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Reem can't do much from the bottom here.
Reem is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Takedown throwing shots but missing, from side control.

Takedown thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Takedown is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Reem is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Takedown is looking to take a break and control but Reem is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Reem is looking for a sweep.
Takedown advances to full mount.
Reem stops Takedown from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.

Takedown breaks from Reem's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Takedown takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Takedown misses with a head shot.

Takedown is working for a guillotine from mount but Reem frees his head quite easily.
Takedown has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Reem is squirming around, avoiding Takedown's attempts to control the action.

Takedown lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Takedown looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Reem on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Reem tries to get out of the position.
Takedown cracks Reem with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Takedown jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Reem is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Reem and Takedown has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Takedown wants to lay and pray for a moment but Reem keeps working.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Rocken Takedown showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! Back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Reem throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Takedown's head.
Takedown's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Reem keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
A slapping body kick lands there for Reem.
Reem connects with a solid leg kick.
Reem scores with a head kick.
Reem is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nice body kick there by Reem.
Takedown has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Reem.

Reem lands a big head kick that sends Takedown tumbling to the mat! Reem takes a step backwards and waves Takedown back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Takedown is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Takedown drops his hands momentarily and Reem needs no second invitation. He sets himself and throws a perfect high kick, that clips Takedown just on the top of the head. Takedown drops like a sack of potatoes to the canvas, out cold! Oooooooh yeah! Stick a fork in Takedown - he's done!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Liam Reem!
A relieved looking Liam Reem thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
