Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Davido Monto (ranked 2641 p4p, 6036 weight class) and John Hardin (ranked 354 p4p, 607 weight class). John Hardin told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hardin works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Monto instigates a clinch.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Monto.
A nice right hand lands inside from Hardin.
Monto is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Monto pulls guard.
Hardin pushing down on Monto's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Monto is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Hardin pulls his head out easily.
Monto is looking for a sweep. Hardin is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Monto has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Monto regains full guard. Nicely done.

Hardin got a little sloppy there for a moment and Monto has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hardin has managed to get both his arms back between Monto's legs - danger averted.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Monto pushes a forearm under Hardin's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Hardin is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
