Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Arlen Stumpf (ranked 3520 p4p, 3018 weight class) and Michael Nessen (ranked 429 p4p, 385 weight class). Arlen Stumpf has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Arlen Stumpf!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michael Nessen!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Gwen Towbar and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stumpf leaves Nessen with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Nessen gets caught napping as Stumpf dives in and scores a takedown. Nessen manages to retain guard.

Stumpf feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Stumpf goes for a double leg but Nessen avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Nessen continues to drive forward.

Nessen gets control of Stumpf's arms and successfully pulls guard. Nessen will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Stumpf postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Stumpf drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Nessen manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Stumpf has Nessen in his guard.

Stumpf uses his free foot to push down on Nessen's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Nessen.

Stumpf jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Nessen is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Nessen and Stumpf has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Stumpf is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Nessen has latched onto it... Big trouble! Nessen pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Stumpf is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Nessen!
