PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Damnation (ranked 4200 p4p, 2819 weight class) and Cynical Christoph (ranked 485 p4p, 356 weight class). Damnation comes to the cage accompanied by St. Jimmy- Green Day. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

I was talking to Damnation's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Christoph swings wildly with an uppercut but Damnation uses good head movement to avoid it.

Christoph works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Christoph creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Damnation gets control of Christoph's arms and successfully pulls guard. Damnation will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Jimmy Damnation has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Christoph throws an elbow that misses. Damnation uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Christoph's guard. Nice move by Damnation!

Christoph seems keen to control Damnation's posture.
Christoph controls Damnation momentarily but Damnation frees himself.

Christoph is pulling down on Damnation's head. It's preventing any offense from Damnation, at least for the moment.

Damnation passes Christoph's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Christoph felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Damnation is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Damnation seems to be looking for submissions.

Cynical Christoph comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Christoph winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
