Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Tico Tico (ranked 2438 p4p, 3260 weight class) and Brendan Lawson (ranked 149 p4p, 199 weight class). Tico comes to the cage accompanied by Paco De Lucia - Tico Tico . Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tico Tico!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 1, fighting out of London, Brendan Lawson!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, John Kavanagh and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tico slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Lawson scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Tico tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Lawson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
We've been hearing good reports from Tico's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Lawson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Tico knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Lawson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Tico has escaped the position, nice work there.

Tico has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lawson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Lawson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Tico tries to buck Lawson off but Lawson is having none of it.

Lawson wants to work for an arm triangle but Tico is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The fighters are battling for position here. Tico manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Lawson shoots in looking for a takedown but Tico manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Lawson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

That was a close round but I would say that Tico Tico will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Lawson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Tico sprawls well. Tico wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Lawson gets slowly back to his feet.

Tico swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Lawson is looking to clinch but Tico is avoiding it.

Lawson tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Tico defends well and Lawson ends up having to push Tico into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Tico is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Lawson can do to turn this around?

Lawson is looking to take a break and control but Tico is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That's time! Tico's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Lawson tries to move into range but Tico moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Tico cracks Lawson with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Tico fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Lawson throws an overhand right that lands on Tico's shoulder, as Tico tries to avoid the shot.
Tico was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Tico connects with a body shot that sends Lawson's belly button to the back.
Lawson lands a jab to the nose.
Lawson takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Tico lands a nice shot to the body.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Lawson.
Lawson shoots for a takedown but Tico saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Tico is looking to wear down Lawson with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Tico throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Lawson stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Tico swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Lawson takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Lawson has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Tico finds it's way round the side to connect with Lawson's head.

Lawson takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Tico avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Lawson shoots for a double leg takedown but Tico sprawls well. He's pushed Lawson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

and Tico counters with a one-two to the body.
Lawson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Tico manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Tico attempts a counter takedown but Lawson avoids it well and moves away.

Tico jabs Lawson right on the nose. Lawson blinks but takes it well.

Tico Tico showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Tico, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

After the fight, Tico Tico was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
