Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Johnson throws the left hand but Smith avoids the punch easily.
Jaren Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Johnson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Smith was well out of range. Poor timing from Johnson.
Johnson goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Smith is looking for a counter combo.

Johnson dives in and scores a takedown into Smith's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Smith has momentary wrist control but Johnson slips an elbow through the middle.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Johnson's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Johnson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Johnson gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Johnson throws a low kick but Smith avoids it.
Smith throws a big counter combination but Johnson scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Smith gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Johnson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Smith is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Johnson frees his head nicely. Oh but Smith has switched to an armbar! Johnson is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
