Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ronaldo Gracie (ranked 4246 p4p, 24202 weight class) and Milez Velez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Velez has chosen Praise The Lord (Da Shine) as his entrance music. Ronaldo Gracie could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Milez Velez's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Velez misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Velez avoids a punch combination nicely.
Velez throws a one two combo.

Velez tries to sprawl but Gracie drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Velez pushes Gracie off and gets back to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

and Velez counters by moving into the clinch.
Gracie tries to pull guard but Velez won't allow it.

and Velez holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Velez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gracie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Gracie decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Gracie tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Velez was well out of range. Poor timing from Gracie.

Velez pushes Gracie up against the cage in a clinch.
Come on Velez - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Gracie is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Velez is keeping busy.
Velez tries to pull guard but Gracie holds him up against the cage and eventually Velez drops back down to his feet.

Velez must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Gracie is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Gracie is looking to cinch up a triangle. Velez throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Gracie's body to avoid the submission. Gracie has instead reached around Velez's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Gracie arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Ronaldo Gracie!
A less than humble Ronaldo Gracie misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
In defeat, Milez Velez stepped up to the mic, saying 'This is all in God's plan. Gotta bounce back stronger and better as ever.'.
