PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dwite Schruuuuuuuut (ranked 4280 p4p, 4410 weight class) and Bob Bob (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bob shoots in looking for a takedown. Schruuuuuuuut tries to sprawl out of it but Bob keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Schruuuuuuuut manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Schruuuuuuuut.
Bob tries to clinch up but Schruuuuuuuut circles away and keeps his distance.
Nice shot lands for Bob.

Schruuuuuuuut has managed to clinch.
Schruuuuuuuut scores with a hook to the body.
Bob wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Schruuuuuuuut breaks from the clinch.
Schruuuuuuuut stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Schruuuuuuuut wants it to stay on the feet.
Bob closes the distance and clinches up with Schruuuuuuuut, looking for a takedown. Bob pushes Schruuuuuuuut against the cage but Schruuuuuuuut circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Dwite Schruuuuuuuut has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bob Bob.
Schruuuuuuuut avoids a punch combination nicely.

Bob shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Bob is pressing down on Schruuuuuuuut's thigh, looking to free his foot. Schruuuuuuuut is holding on for now.

Schruuuuuuuut tries to hold on but Bob pushes him away.

Bob takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Schruuuuuuuut defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Bob.

Bob lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Bob has hold of Schruuuuuuuut's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Schruuuuuuuut manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Schruuuuuuuut wants to control but Bob is having none of it.
Bob tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Let's hope that Bob has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Schruuuuuuuut is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Bob tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Schruuuuuuuut takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Bob landing strikes from the mount.
Schruuuuuuuut knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bob on the ground.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Bob putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Bob lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Schruuuuuuuut wants to control but Bob is having none of it.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Bob Bob dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Bob shoots in and drives through. Schruuuuuuuut sprawls well.
Schruuuuuuuut fails to land with a series of punches.
Bob shapes to counter with a head kick.

Schruuuuuuuut clinches with his opponent.
Schruuuuuuuut has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Bob is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Bob drops down looking for an ankle pick but Schruuuuuuuut pulls his leg out and moves away.
Schruuuuuuuut avoids the head kick by Bob.

Schruuuuuuuut moves into the clinch.
Bob has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Bob has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Schruuuuuuuut kicks off Bob and gets to his feet.

enabling Schruuuuuuuut to counter with a crisp jab.
A combination from Schruuuuuuuut does no damage.
Bob fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Dwite Schruuuuuuuut has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bob Bob.

Bob avoids the strikes from the bottom by Schruuuuuuuut.
Schruuuuuuuut is trying to work for a sweep but Bob has mounted him!
Bob trying to control but Schruuuuuuuut is having none of it.
Schruuuuuuuut on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Schruuuuuuuut tries to get out of the position.

Bob jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Schruuuuuuuut is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Schruuuuuuuut and Bob has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Schruuuuuuuut is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Bob has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Bob decides to stand up, so the ref orders Schruuuuuuuut to his feet.
Schruuuuuuuut goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Schruuuuuuuut will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Bob wants to counter the offense by Schruuuuuuuut and move into the clinch position.
Bob is trying hard to land a takedown here. Schruuuuuuuut sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Schruuuuuuuut went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Schruuuuuuuut avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Schruuuuuuuut wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Bob slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Schruuuuuuuut fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Bob closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Schruuuuuuuut did well to prevent Bob getting side control.

Schruuuuuuuut manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Bob keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Bob has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Bob drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Schruuuuuuuut gets the underhooks and prevents it.

That's time! Schruuuuuuuut's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Bob throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Schruuuuuuuut tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Bob is in Schruuuuuuuut's guard.
Bob stands up over Schruuuuuuuut, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Bob is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Bob is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Schruuuuuuuut throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Bob wants to stand but Schruuuuuuuut has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Bob gets to his feet. Schruuuuuuuut looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Bob closes the distance and clinches up with Schruuuuuuuut, looking for a takedown. Bob pushes Schruuuuuuuut against the cage but Schruuuuuuuut circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Schruuuuuuuut tries to score a body lock takedown but Bob shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Bob has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Schruuuuuuuut uses from the top position.

Bob tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Schruuuuuuuut just stands there and leans against the cage.

Schruuuuuuuut stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Bob is working for takedown but Schruuuuuuuut is calmly controlling the position for now.

Schruuuuuuuut breaks from the clinch.

Schruuuuuuuut gets a clinch.

Bob is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Schruuuuuuuut gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Bob jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Schruuuuuuuut walks away with a smile on his face. Bob gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Schruuuuuuuut manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Bob keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Bob takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Bob is trying to pull guard but Schruuuuuuuut turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Dwite Schruuuuuuuut is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Schruuuuuuuut will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Bob up against the cage.
Bob tries to break the clinch but Schruuuuuuuut is controlling the position.
