Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jacques Turcotte (ranked 1914 p4p, 2322 weight class) and Yves Marchant (ranked 263 p4p, 286 weight class). Marchant has chosen gandagana as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Turcotte gets caught napping as Marchant dives in and scores a takedown. Turcotte manages to retain guard.
Marchant wants to pass the guard but Turcotte is keeping the position.
Turcotte is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Turcotte prevents Marchant from improving his position.
The fighters are battling for position here. Marchant manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Marchant isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Turcotte stacks Marchant on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Turcotte!
Marchant is letting Turcotte control him for a moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Marchant is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Turcotte pulls his head out easily.
Turcotte is taking a breather. Marchant says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

A lazy left from Turcotte finds it's target.
Turcotte lands with a hook. Marchant tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Jacques Turcotte is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Turcotte connects with a body shot that sends Marchant's belly button to the back.
Marchant is still on wobbly legs! Can Turcotte finish him?
Turcotte stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Turcotte wants it to stay on the feet.
Marchant seems to have recovered his senses.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Turcotte lands a big right hand that sends Marchant crashing to the mat! Turcotte stays standing though and waves Marchant back to his feet!
