Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between frank mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Genzo Wakabayashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, frank mir!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Genzo Wakabayashi!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Daniel Franklin and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wakabayashi tries a head kick but it misses.
mir swings and misses with a hook to the body.
mir tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Wakabayashi paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Wakabayashi is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

and Wakabayashi counters with a head kick.
mir could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
mir wants to clinch
and Wakabayashi makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
mir throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
mir closes the distance looking to clinch
and Wakabayashi counters with a big head kick but mir shrugs it off.
mir fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
The fight stays on the outside here - Wakabayashi looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

mir shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
mir shoots in looking for a takedown. Wakabayashi tries to sprawl out of it but mir keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Wakabayashi manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for frank mir. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Wakabayashi turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for mir. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Horrible takedown by mir or perhaps it was just good defense by Wakabayashi which made him look bad.

frank mir seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

mir ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. mir no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

mir closes the distance and clinches up with Wakabayashi, looking for a takedown. mir pushes Wakabayashi against the cage but Wakabayashi circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

mir shoots for a double leg takedown but Wakabayashi sprawls well. He's pushed mir's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Wakabayashi unloads a knee to the mid-section. mir lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

mir jumps guard but Wakabayashi stands there with mir around his waist. mir gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

mir has had enough of the clinch but Wakabayashi keeps him there for the moment.
Wakabayashi drops down looking for an ankle pick but mir pulls his leg out and moves away.
mir clinches but Wakabayashi breaks the clinch
and Wakabayashi counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. mir is lucky that one didn't land flush.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Genzo Wakabayashi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! Back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



Wakabayashi rushes mir and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Wakabayashi jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as mir walks away with a smile on his face. Wakabayashi gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Wakabayashi tries to clinch but mir is having none of it.

mir shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. mir lands a nice short elbow.
mir is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Wakabayashi connecting with a few gentle strikes.
Wakabayashi punching from the bottom.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
mir not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Wakabayashi is staying active underneath mir, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

mir is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Wakabayashi throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
mir wants to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Wakabayashi throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

mir looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Wakabayashi!
Wakabayashi is wriggling around trying to escape.

Wakabayashi swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
mir wants to control the pace but Wakabayashi is squirming around nicely.

Wakabayashi tries to buck mir off so he can stand up but mir has got his back now - this could be big trouble! He's slapped on a rear naked choke that looks really tight! Wakabayashi falls backwards, slamming mir to the mat but mir holds on tight! Wakabayashi is forced to tap and this one is all over!
