Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Severo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Neto Dos Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Severo's entrance music is Hallowed Be Thy Name. A fine choice. Neto Dos Santos has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Carlos Severo's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Severo scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Severo could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Jeez, both these guys look absolutely knackered already, that's not a good sign!

Severo postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Dos Santos to stand up.

Dos Santos fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Severo sprawls well initially but Dos Santos persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Severo tries to roll over but Dos Santos keeps him under control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Severo is trying to hold Dos Santos in close to prevent damage but Dos Santos has managed to pass into half guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Dos Santos stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Severo swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Dos Santos wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Severo, who protects the arm well.
Severo is not content to let Dos Santos control the position.

Severo throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.
Dos Santos is looking to take a break and control but Severo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Severo is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Severo gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Severo gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

Dos Santos pulls guard successfully.

Dos Santos escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Severo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

A close round but Neto Dos Santos will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
