Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Roddy Banner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Dillian Davies!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Glass and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Banner, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Davies misses with a head kick.
Banner fires out a quick counter leg kick but Davies just manages to avoid it.
Banner will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
A right-left combo lands from Banner.

Davies shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Davies with a flurry of punches that miss.
Banner can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Davies controls the pace.
Banner wants to improve his position but instead Davies has moved into half guard.

Davies is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Davies tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Banner just stands there and leans against the cage.

Davies changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Banner fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Some bone on bone action there as Banner checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Davies shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Banner napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Davies can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Banner is looking to escape.
Banner is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Reach Around, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

As Davies looks to move away, Banner throws a big counter combo but Davies just gets out of the way.

Davies has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Banner uses from the top position.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Davies can do anything to dispel that myth.

It looked like Banner wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Banner throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Davies stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Banner ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Banner jabs Davies to the body, keeping him at a distance.

Banner scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Banner remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Davies is looking for a sweep.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The referee asks Banner politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Banner prefers to stall for the moment though.
Davies takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Davies is looking to get back to his feet here but Banner is keeping cool and he's managed to take Davies's back.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Banner, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
