Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mister Tumnus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Skip Squint and Topper Green.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tumnus moves into the clinch successfully.

Tumnus has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Gracie uses from the top position.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Tumnus is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Gracie passes easily into side control. Nice work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tumnus tries to improve position but can't.
Gracie wants to control but Tumnus is keeping him busy.
Gracie is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
We've been hearing good reports from Tumnus's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gracie wants to lay and pray for a moment but Tumnus keeps working.
Tumnus manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Gracie is looking to take a break and control but Tumnus is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Gracie wants to work for an arm triangle but Tumnus is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Tumnus has a hand on Gracie's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Gracie takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Tumnus is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Tumnus is looking to improve his position but Gracie isn't that keen on the idea.
BOOM! Gracie connects with a massive shot to the dome!

It looks like Mister Tumnus has been cut.
Tumnus is squirming around, avoiding Gracie's attempts to control the action.
Tumnus taking shots to the head.
Tumnus tries to improve his position but instead Gracie has taken his back!
Tumnus grimaces as he takes a shot to the body.
Tumnus can't escape the position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Gracie has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Tumnus's body.
Tumnus tries to roll but Gracie sticks to his back.

Gracie biding his time, looking for the opening.

Gracie working for a choke but Tumnus reverses nicely into Gracie 's guard.

Tumnus got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gracie has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Tumnus has managed to get both his arms back between Gracie's legs - danger averted.
Tumnus looking to sit in guard and control but Gracie gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Tumnus might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Gracie trying to control but Tumnus is working from the bottom.
Gracie looking to sit in guard and control but Tumnus gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Our spies down at at HELLCADEMY inform us that Gracie has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Gracie looking for subs off his back but Tumnus has passed one foot through into half guard.
Tumnus is looking to take a break and control but Gracie is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Tumnus is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Gracie is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

James Gracie dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.


Gracie manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Tumnus on his heels. He'll look to pass Tumnus's guard now, I'm sure.
Tumnus keeping moving, preventing Gracie from controlling successfully.

Tumnus has his foot on Gracie's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gracie works his way back into a safe position though.

Gracie is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Tumnus is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Tumnus has escaped and now he's on top!

Tumnus goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Gracie has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Tumnus but great work by Gracie.

Gracie tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Gracie lands a decent elbow from side control.
Tumnus sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Gracie trying to pass the guard but Tumnus defending well.
Gracie wants to take a breather but Tumnus is having none of it.

Tumnus tries to roll over but Gracie keeps him under control.
Tumnus manages to get to full guard.

Tumnus looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Tumnus isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Gracie stacks Tumnus on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Gracie!

Tumnus has hold of Gracie's hands but Gracie slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Gracie's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Gracie wants to control from the top but Tumnus keeps moving.

Tumnus has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gracie can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Tumnus looking for a guillotine here but Gracie defends easily.

Tumnus looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

James Gracie showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Tumnus is refusing to be controlled, as Gracie sits in half guard.

Gracie misses with a head shot. Tumnus uses the momentum to regain guard.
Tumnus wants to sweep but no luck.
Tumnus working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Gracie.
Tumnus is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Gracie has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Gracie trying to control the position from guard on top but Tumnus is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Gracie lands a couple of digs.
Tumnus has momentary wrist control but Gracie slips an elbow through the middle.
Tumnus wants to sweep here but Gracie controlling him for the moment.
Gracie sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Tumnus's guard.

Tumnus is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Gracie pulls his head out easily.

Gracie is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Tumnus is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Gracie's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Gracie's back!
Gracie turns into Tumnus and is now in his guard.
Mister Tumnus has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Gracie looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Gracie wants to control from the top but Tumnus keeps moving.

Gracie postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Tumnus is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Gracie, into his guard.

Tumnus stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gracie swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Tumnus trying to control but Gracie is working from the bottom.
Tumnus has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
