PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Big Burtha (ranked 2348 p4p, 1731 weight class) and Vedran Mihaljevic (ranked 305 p4p, 235 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Big Burtha!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burtha bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Mihaljevic jabs Burtha right on the nose. Burtha blinks but takes it well.
Burtha takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Mihaljevic throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Burtha tries to close the distance and clinch but Mihaljevic swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Burtha is looking to clinch but Mihaljevic is avoiding it.
Burtha tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mihaljevic paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Burtha closes the distance and clinches.

Mihaljevic turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Mihaljevic has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Burtha drops his hands momentarily and Mihaljevic takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

It looks like Big Burtha has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Burtha tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mihaljevic swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Burtha moves into range and clinches up with Mihaljevic.
Burtha fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Mihaljevic has hold of one of Burtha's legs. Burtha is fighting the takedown attempt but Mihaljevic gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Burtha on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Burtha tries to get out of the position.

Mihaljevic decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Burtha, up you get!

Mihaljevic pulls guard effortlessly.
Burtha loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Burtha throws a strike but Mihaljevic rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Mihaljevic throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Burtha stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Mihaljevic misses with a few strikes there.
Mihaljevic swats away the attempt to clinch by Burtha.
Burtha takes one on the button.

Burtha gets in close and instigates a clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Burtha lands a left hand that snaps the head of Mihaljevic backwards.

Mihaljevic is trying to trip Burtha. He has hold of a leg but Burtha is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Mihaljevic persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mihaljevic stands up from Burtha's guard - Mihaljevic perhaps looking for a knockout.

Burtha tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Mihaljevic pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Burtha is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Burtha fails in his attempt to clinch.
Mihaljevic moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Mihaljevic connects with a crisp jab.
Mihaljevic might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Mihaljevic has Burtha pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Mihaljevic pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Burtha tumbling to the mat - Mihaljevic dives into Burtha's guard.

Big Burtha's cut is getting worse.

Mihaljevic cracks Burtha with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Mihaljevic has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Burtha to stand back up!

Burtha is rocked!
Burtha fails in his attempt to clinch.
Oh Burtha is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Mihaljevic sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Burtha's defenses. It connects perfectly with Burtha's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!
