Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jurgen Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and ryan vader (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). ryan vader has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Jurgen Smith's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
vader is looking to clinch but Smith is avoiding it.
vader throws a head kick that misses.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Smith tries to land knees in the clinch but vader avoids the damage to the body.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.

vader blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Smith shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in vader's guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
vader has control of Smith's left arm, preventing Smith from doing any damage.
vader manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Smith manages to get himself to full guard.

vader must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Smith fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jurgen Smith.
