Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Frank Kurschmann!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Peter Kowalski!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Bruno Lombardi and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kowalski lands a right hook to the body.

Kowalski will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Kurschmann throws a hook to the side of Kowalski's head but Kowalski sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Kowalski is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Kurschmann sees it coming and defends easily.
Kowalski looks to land a strike but Kurschmann avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Kowalski has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Kowalski trying to control the position from guard on top but Kurschmann is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Kowalski stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kurschmann swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Kowalski wants to control from the top but Kurschmann keeps moving.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Kowalski working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Kowalski shoots in for a double leg but Kurschmann sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Kurschmann stuffs the takedown attempt from Kowalski. Kowalski gets slowly back to his feet.
Frank Kurschmann has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Peter Kowalski.

enabling Kurschmann to counter with a crisp jab.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kowalski dives in and grabs Kurschmann's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kurschmann pushes down on Kowalski's head and hops out.

Kowalski throws a lazy right hand but Kurschmann sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
A looping hook to the body misses from Kowalski. Kurschmann does a little dance to reset his feet.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Peter Kowalski dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Kurschmann wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

and Kurschmann counters with a nice right hand that sends Kowalski toppling to the canvas! Kowalski scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Kurschmann finish him?!

It looks like Peter Kowalski has been cut.

Kurschmann takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Kurschmann is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Kurschmann counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Kurschmann lands with a nice body punch.
Kurschmann is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kowalski can do to turn this around?
Kurschmann is stalking Kowalski. Kowalski circles to his left. Keeps circling left. Bam! Straight right from Kurschmann, and it's lights out! Kowalski really payed the price for that rookie mistake.
