Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bret Hill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Blue Sr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hill comes to the cage accompanied by Wanted Dead Or Alive by Bon Jovi. Blue Sr is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: I Gotta Feeling. Bret Hill has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Blue Sr!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blue Sr scores with a crisp jab that stopped Hill in his tracks.
Hill closes the distance and clinches up with Blue Sr, looking for a takedown. Hill pushes Blue Sr against the cage but Blue Sr circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Blue Sr has managed to clinch.
Hill crunches a lovely knee into Blue Sr's ribcage.
Hill connects with a nasty looking knee right to Blue Sr's face.
Hill misses with a knee strike.
Blue Sr wants to break the clinch but can't.
Blue Sr is trying to maintain a safe position but Hill gets an underhook and turns Blue Sr into the cage.

Hill goes for a takedown attempt but Blue Sr pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Hill pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Blue Sr tries to clinch there but Hill circles away.
Blue Sr closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Hill has closed the distance and engaged Blue Sr in a clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hill goes for a takedown attempt but Blue Sr pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Hill throws an elbow but it misses.

Hill breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Hill shoots in and drives through. Blue Sr sprawls well.

Hill throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Blue Sr blocks it with crossed arms.

Hill breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Hill misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Hill tries to clinch there but Blue Sr circles away.

Blue Sr moves into range and clinches up with Hill.
Blue Sr is trying to break the clinch but Hill has him pressed against the cage.
Hill connects with a nasty looking knee right to Blue Sr's face.
Hill tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Blue Sr smiles and moves away.
Hill closes the distance looking to clinch

and Blue Sr counters by clinching up.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Blue Sr wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Hill looking to throw knees to the head but Blue Sr is blocking nicely.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Blue Sr.
Hill jumps guard but Blue Sr stands there with Hill around his waist. Hill gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but John Blue Sr will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Blue Sr is fighting off a takedown attempt but Hill is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Blue Sr to the mat. Blue Sr regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Hill drops back, looking for a kneebar! Blue Sr looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Blue Sr looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Blue Sr!
Hill on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Hill is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Hill gets full guard.
Hill has a closed guard, preventing Blue Sr from standing up.
Hill might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Blue Sr is breathing heavily.

Hill looking for a guillotine here but Blue Sr defends easily.

Hill is working an open guard so Blue Sr takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hill is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Blue Sr gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Hill had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Blue Sr is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Hill Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Blue Sr's back instead.
Blue Sr turns into Hill and is now in his guard.
Blue Sr wants to stand but Hill has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Hill looking for a sweep. Not yet Hill, not yet.
Blue Sr passes into half guard.
Blue Sr tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hill is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Hill looking for submissions off his back.

Hill gets back to full guard.
Hill bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Blue Sr's guard.

Hill is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Hill postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Blue Sr is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hill, into his guard.
Hill has a closed guard, preventing Blue Sr from standing up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bret Hill dominated that second round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Hill tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Blue Sr paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Hill throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Blue Sr blocks it with crossed arms.
Hill keeps control of Blue Sr as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Blue Sr throws a punch but it's blocked by Hill.

Hill manages to break the clinch.
Hill tries to close the distance and clinch but Blue Sr swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Hill fails with an attempt to clinch.
Hill wants to clinch
and Blue Sr counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Blue Sr is pressed up against the cage. Hill has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Blue Sr down to the mat. Blue Sr avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

and Blue Sr holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Hill tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Hill digs a good body shot into Blue Sr's ribs.
Blue Sr misses with a hook.

Hill scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Hill works his way into side control.

Hill wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Blue Sr, who protects the arm well.

Hill is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Blue Sr has escaped the position, nice work there.
Blue Sr is looking to reverse the position.
Blue Sr is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Hill is controlling him well.

Hill wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Blue Sr, who protects the arm well.

Hill goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Blue Sr has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Hill but great work by Blue Sr.
Hill tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Blue Sr presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Blue Sr tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Blue Sr trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Hill is looking to improve his position but Blue Sr isn't that keen on the idea.

Hill bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Hill tries to free his leg and advance position but Blue Sr is retaining full guard.

Hill drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Hill as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Blue Sr screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Hill! Nice submission victory there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:38 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Bret Hill!
