Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matthew Fritz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, John Johns!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Sosuke Kotani and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johns walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
A looping hook to the body misses from Fritz. Johns does a little dance to reset his feet.
Johns misses with a right hand
and Fritz counters with a right hand to the body.
Fritz connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Johns walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Fritz looks to land a right hand but Johns moved out of range.
Johns throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
We've been told by Fritz's head coaches at Limitless Fitness that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Fritz fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Johns lands with a right hand.
Fritz jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Johns feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Fritzs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Johns swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Fritz swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Fritz lands a jab.
Johns bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Fritz lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Fritz lands with an overhand left.
Johns throws a big shot that misses.
Fritz thuds his right hand into Johns's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Johns throws a leg kick
and Fritz counters with a nice uppercut.
Johns misses with an uppercut
and Fritz cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
John Johns seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fritz throws a hook but Johns blocks it.
Johns avoids the body shot from Fritz.
Johns throws an off balance right hand
and Fritz counters with a stiff right hand.
Fritz moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Johns walks into a left hand.
Fritz is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Fritz uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Johns fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Fritz manages to avoid it.
Johns throws a nice inside leg kick.
A big left from Johns misses.
Johns connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Johns lands a head shot.
Fritz looks to land a left hand but Johns moved out of range nicely.
Johns swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

letting Fritz counter with a right hand.
A slow jab from Johns misses its intended target.
Matthew Fritz is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

A shot to the body from Johns misses
and Fritz connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Johns looks to score with a jab to the body but Fritz is just out of range.
Johns bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Fritz goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Fritz misses with an uppercut.
Johns is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Fritz lands with a right to the head.
Nice body punch from Fritz - that landed with a thud.
Fritz lands with a right to the head.
Johns blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Johns is trying to break the clinch but Fritz has him pressed against the cage.
Johns trying to stall but Fritz improves his position.
Johns wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Fritz has him pressed against the cage.
Fritz lands a body shot.
Fritz gets underhooks to prevent Johns's takedown attempt.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fritz misses with a hook to the ribs.
A right handed body shot lands from Fritz.
Johns looks winded!

Fritz breaks the clinch.
Fritz keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Fritz fires out a quick counter leg kick but Johns just manages to avoid it.
Fritz lands a jab to the nose.
Fritz misses the jab.
Johns throws a predictable looking body shot
and Fritz counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Fritz lands the left hand.
Fritz uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Johns.
Johns pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Johns swings widly with a right hand
enabling Fritz to counter with a crisp jab.

Johns is rocked!
Johns misses with a lunging right hand
and Fritz counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Johns is still on wobbly legs! Can Fritz finish him?
Fritz walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Johns drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Fritz swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Johns's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Matthew Fritz!
An out of breath Matthew Fritz thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
