Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bhupal Birendra (ranked 6655 p4p, 24752 weight class) and Lyle Gill (ranked 189 p4p, 205 weight class). Birendra kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is INDIAN DESERT. Lyle Gill is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Eddie Farnsworth and Jonathan Paton.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gill looking to score a takedown here. Birendra is defending well but Gill drives through and ends up in Birendra's guard.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Gill has eaten all the pies!
Gill won't allow Birendra to get back to his feet.
Gill trying to control but Birendra is working from the bottom.
Birendra wants to get back to his feet but Gill is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Birendra will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Gill wants to pass the guard but Birendra is keeping the position.
Birendra wants to stand but Gill is controlling the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gill controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Gill keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Gill takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Gill tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Birendra swivels and escapes.
A quick step to the side and Birendra tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Gill looks winded!

Birendra cracks Gill with an uppercut from hell and Gill crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Birendra's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!

It looks like Lyle Gill has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Birendra is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Gill keeping moving, preventing Birendra from controlling successfully.
Gill looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Birendra loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Birendra would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Gill tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Birendra throws a big overhand right that connects, sending Gill tumbling to the canvas!

That has opened up Lyle Gill's cut even more.
Birendra's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Birendra's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Birendra is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Birendra wants to control from the top but Gill keeps moving.
Birendra looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Birendra drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Birendra jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Birendra seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Birendra's corner calls for a 1-2. Birendra obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

The cut above Lyle Gill's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Gill shoots for a double leg takedown but Birendra sprawls well. He's pushed Gill's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Birendra's jab looks to have found its range, popping Gill under the eye.

Lyle Gill's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Lyle Gill's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
