The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shamrock fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Shamrock throws a series of punches but Maestre avoids them all with ease.
Maestre throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Shamrock sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Maestre loads up on a big right hand but Shamrock slips the punch.
Maestre throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Shamrock.
Shamrock swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Maestre throws out a loose jab but Shamrock uses good head movement to avoid it.
Shamrock appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Stan Shamrock seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Maestre lands a nice shot that snaps Shamrock's head back.

It looks like Stan Shamrock has been cut.
Maestre has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Maestre misses with the combination.
Shamrock loads up on a big right hand but Maestre slips the punch.
Shamrock misses with a right hand
and Maestre cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Shamrock has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Maestre cracks Shamrock with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Shamrock looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Maestre finish him?

Shamrock is rocked!
Maestre cracks Shamrock with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Shamrock tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Maestre pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Shamrock is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
