Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Raymond Holt (ranked 24148 p4p, 5792 weight class) and Victor Avila (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Avila is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Sientelo. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Holt closes the distance and clinches.
Avila looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Avila throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

Holt jumps guard.
Holt is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Holt lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Holt gets to his feet. Avila looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Holt closes this distance looking for a takedown but Avila circles away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Holt throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Avila blocks it with crossed arms.

Holt manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Holt is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Avila presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Holt definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Holt will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Avila up against the cage.

Holt has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Avila has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Holt is nestled in close to Avila, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Avila enables Holt to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Avila manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Avila is working an open guard so Holt takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Avila is sent reeling backwards by a solid uppercut. He barely regains his balance and Holt moves in for the kill throwing a continuous barrage of punches that force the ref to step in.
