The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lawson is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Barnes finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Lawson darts in and clinches Barnes up against the cage.

Barnes turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Barnes looks up at the clock and then as Lawson takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Barnes smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Barnes is trying to ground and pound but Lawson uses the momentary lack of control by Barnes to regain half guard.

Lawson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Barnes can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Barnes stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Lawson throws up his legs and catches Barnes in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Barnes tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Lawson! That came out of nowhere!
