Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rich Voss (ranked 1844 p4p, 2174 weight class) and Narayan Nassau (ranked 249 p4p, 283 weight class). Narayan Nassau has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Rich Voss's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rich Voss!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Narayan Nassau!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Steven Brown and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nassau scores with a nice right hand.
Voss lands a lovely overhand right.
Nassau looks to land a combination. Voss sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Nassau throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A big left from Nassau misses.
Voss misses with a hook. Nassau ducked under it nicely.
Voss shoots in looking for a takedown. Nassau tries to sprawl out of it but Voss keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Nassau manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Nassau throws a hook but Voss blocks it.

Nassau gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Voss thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Voss with a nice head shot there.
Voss controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Nassau told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Nassau can do anything to dispel that myth.
Voss stopping the sweep attempt from Nassau.

Voss trying to control the position from guard on top but Nassau is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Voss forces his way into half guard.
Still in half guard, Voss seems content to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Voss scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Nassau tries to get to full guard but Voss has control of the leg.
Nassau moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Voss trying to control the position from guard on top but Nassau is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Nassau not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Nassau looking to hit a scissor sweep but Voss is one step ahead there.

Voss wants to control from the top but Nassau keeps moving.
Voss slips nicely into half guard.
Well, if Voss is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Nassau slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Nassau striking off his back but it's not causing Voss any problems.
Nassau tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Voss with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Voss wants to control from the top but Nassau keeps moving.
Nassau controls Voss momentarily but Voss frees himself.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Voss tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Nassau was well out of range. Poor timing from Voss.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Voss shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Nassau pinned against the cage. Nassau gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Voss closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Nassau bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Nassau bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
A jab from Voss misses.
Narayan Nassau is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Nassau takes a swing at Voss's ribcage but misses.
The fighters circling - Nassau throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Voss walks into a straight right hand from Nassau.
Nassau tests Voss's chin there with a solid looking shot.
A swing and a miss from Voss.
Voss avoids a punch combination nicely.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Narayan Nassau dominated that round.
That's time! Voss's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Nassau connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Voss momentarily.
Nassau scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Voss doesn't seem bothered though.
Nice cross by Voss.
Nassau throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Narayan Nassau seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Nassau throws a series of strikes that have Voss backpedaling.
Voss tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Nassau defends well and Voss ends up having to push Nassau into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Voss is looking for a takedown.
I was talking to Voss's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Nassau prevents a body shot from Voss.
Nassau goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Nassau stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Nassau.
Nassau scores with a nice hook to the head.
Nassau swings wildly with an uppercut but Voss uses good head movement to avoid it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Voss's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
A jab from Nassau finds it's way through Voss's defenses.

Voss avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Voss drops down looking for a counter takedown but Nassau sprawls and moves away.
Voss throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Nassau sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Nassau misses with an uppercut.
Nassau looks to throw the jab but Voss is out of range.
Nassau lands a right hook to the body.
Nassau lands a nice looking body shot.
A nice combination there by Nassau.

Voss ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Voss drops down looking for a counter takedown but Nassau sprawls and moves away.
Oh Voss is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
A telegraphed right hand from Nassau misses the target.
Voss seems to have got his legs back now.
Voss fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rich Voss. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The crowd cheers as Nassau lands an impressive looking overhand right. Voss doesn't seem phased though.
Nassau fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Voss uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Nassau.
Nassau throws a nice looking combination but Voss bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Voss shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Nassau napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Nassau prevents Voss from moving into mount.
Voss trying to control the position but Nassau is working away.
Nassau manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Voss has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Nassau. Oh but Voss has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Nassau goes limp - he's gone! Voss jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Rich Voss!
A relieved looking Rich Voss thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
