Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ishmael Egyptian (ranked 2798 p4p, 3565 weight class) and Dean Hawthrone (ranked 267 p4p, 316 weight class). Ishmael Egyptian has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ishmael Egyptian!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dean Hawthrone!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, George Francis and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hawthrone takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Ishmael Egyptian seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Egyptian scores with a hook.
Hawthrone shoots for a double leg takedown but Egyptian sprawls well. He's pushed Hawthrone's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Hawthrone has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Egyptian clinches up against the cage.
Egyptian prevents a takedown attempt there.
Egyptian scores with a shot to the side of Hawthrone's head.
Egyptian lands with a right to the head.
A right hook to the body lands for Egyptian.
Hawthrone tries to pull guard but Egyptian won't allow it.
Ishmael Egyptian has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dean Hawthrone.
Come on Egyptian - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Egyptian digs a right hand into Hawthrone's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Hawthrone's gas tank.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Egyptian pushes Hawthrone back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Hawthrone drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Egyptian has Hawthrone pushed against the cage.

Egyptian digs a right hand underneath Hawthrone's ribcage. Hawthrone let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Hawthrone tries to pull guard but Egyptian won't allow it.
Hawthrone jumps guard but Egyptian stands there with Hawthrone around his waist. Hawthrone gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Egyptian lands with a short shot to the head.
Hawthrone is looking to take this one to the mat.
Egyptian is pressed up against the cage. Hawthrone has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Egyptian down to the mat. Egyptian avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Nice straight punches there by Egyptian. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Egyptian.

Egyptian throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Egyptian content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Hawthrone's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Hawthrone is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Egyptian.

Hawthrone is rocked!
Hawthrone tries to pull guard but Egyptian forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Hawthrone is still on wobbly legs! Can Egyptian finish him?
Egyptian lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Hawthrone backwards.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Egyptian working some nice short punches in the clinch.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Egyptian lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Egyptian lands a body punch in the clinch.
Hawthrone tries to pull guard but Egyptian forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Egyptian stalls.
Egyptian has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Hawthrone is working for takedown but Egyptian is calmly controlling the position for now.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Egyptian.
Egyptian lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Hawthrone has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Egyptian after a bit of a struggle.
Hawthrone looks winded!
Egyptian lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Egyptian's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Egyptian scores with a nice hook to the head.
Egyptian pushes Hawthrone against the cage. Egyptian is working some dirty boxing. Egyptian pushes off with a quick right hook! Hawthrone goes down! Hawthrone tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Egyptian moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ishmael Egyptian!
