Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nyquil Salazar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marlon Oliver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Salazar might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Enter Sandman. Nyquil Salazar is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nyquil Salazar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Marlon Oliver!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oliver throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Nice sprawl there from Oliver as Salazar shoots in.
Salazar tries to clinch there but Oliver circles away.
Oliver dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
The fight stays on the outside here - Salazar looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Salazar stuffs the takedown attempt from Oliver. Oliver gets slowly back to his feet.
Oliver throws an overhand right that lands on Salazar's shoulder, as Salazar tries to avoid the shot.
Salazar slips a jab and a cross from Oliver.
A big left from Oliver misses.
Salazar pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Salazar avoids the head kick by Oliver.
Salazar fails with an attempt to clinch.
Oliver scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Salazar doesn't seem bothered though.
Oliver plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

Salazar closes the distance and clinches.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Salazar escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Oliver tries to clinch but fails miserably
enabling Salazar to counter with a crisp jab.

Salazar drives through and clinches with Oliver against the cage.

Oliver can't break the clinch.

Oliver wants to break free but Salazar has control.
Oliver throws a knee to the head but misses.
Salazar prevents Oliver from breaking the clinch.

Salazar has clasped his hands together around Oliver's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Salazar thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Salazar wants to control but Oliver is keeping him busy.

Salazar tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Salazar has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Oliver wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Salazar tries for a kimura but Oliver is defending well.

Salazar wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Oliver, who protects the arm well.
Oliver takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Oliver is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Salazar is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Oliver has escaped the position, nice work there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Salazar is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Oliver is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Salazar fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Oliver is trying to buck Salazar off.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Salazar stands up and beckons Oliver to his feet.
Oliver pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Salazar clinches.

Salazar has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Oliver uses from the top position.
Salazar manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Oliver manages to get himself to full guard.

Salazar drops back looking for a leg! Oliver is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Oliver manages to kick Salazar off! Salazar jumps back into Oliver's guard.
Salazar content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Salazar sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Oliver's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nyquil Salazar dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Salazar drops down looking for an ankle pick but Oliver pulls his leg out and moves away.

and Salazar holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Salazar closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Salazar stops Oliver from getting back to his feet.
Salazar lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Salazar is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Salazar works his way into full mount!

Salazar goes for an armbar but Oliver turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Oliver.
Oliver throws a big right hand that misses.
Oliver is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Salazar is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Oliver tries to kick Salazar off but Salazar keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Salazar is looking for a kimura but Oliver is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Salazar to get the leverage.
Oliver is trying to stand back up but Salazar is controlling him

Salazar seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Oliver is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Nyquil Salazar!
