Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Edson Bidon Barbosa (ranked 32 p4p, 56 weight class) and Marcello Sosa (ranked 5 p4p, 10 weight class). Sosa has chosen EMOTIONALLY SCARRED as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the featherweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Marcello Sosa!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Shigeki Sano and Yasuomi Hirokawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sosa uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Sosa scores with a jab. Barbosa acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Sosa throws a jab but it's blocked by Barbosa.
Barbosa throwing a counter right hand but Sosa manages to avoid it.
Sosa lands with a thumping leg kick.
Sosa pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Barbosa takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Barbosa tries to land a front kick but Sosa steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Marcello Sosa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sosa feints and then cracks Barbosa's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Barbosa down.
A nice leg kick from Sosa, right into the meat of the thigh.

Sosa bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Sosa tries a quick counter leg kick but Barbosa is wise to it.
We've been told by Barbosa's head coaches at Ice Cream Parlour that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Sosa scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.

and Barbosa counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Sosa lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Barbosa misses with a hook. Sosa ducked under it nicely.
Sosa was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Sosa throws a shot from downtown. Barbosa moves away and avoids it.
Barbosa on the wrong end of a kick to the body.

Barbosa is looking for a counter combo.

and Barbosa counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Sosa takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Barbosa lands a big right hand that sends Sosa crashing to the mat! Barbosa stays standing though and waves Sosa back to his feet!

It looks like Marcello Sosa has been cut.
Barbosa moves in close and cracks Sosa with a massive right hand! Sosa, frozen momentarily in time, tumbles to the canvas, already out cold! A brutal knockout by Barbosa!
