Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Steve Austin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kazuya Takeshi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Austin's entrance music is Stone Cold Steve Austin's entrance music. A fine choice. Kazuya Takeshi has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Steve Austin's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Steve Austin!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kazuya Takeshi!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shigeki Sano and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Austin thows a body shot but no joy.
Austin attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Austin misses with an uppercut. Takeshi saw that one coming.
Austin misses with an attempted mid kick.
Austin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Takeshi's waist but Takeshi gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Austin off to one side.
Takeshi dodges the punch combination from Austin.
Austin shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Takeshi pinned against the cage. Takeshi gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Takeshi stuffs the takedown attempt from Austin. Austin gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Steve Austin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Austin tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Takeshi swivels and escapes.

Austin misses with the combination.
Austin shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Takeshi as he avoids it easily.
Austin tries a head kick but it misses.

Takeshi blocks the body kick.
Austin closes the distance and clinches up with Takeshi, looking for a takedown. Austin pushes Takeshi against the ropes but Takeshi circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Steve Austin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Takeshi has closed the distance and engaged Austin in a clinch.
Takeshi scores with a shoulder strike.
Takeshi fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Takeshi swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Takeshi is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Austin is keeping busy.

Takeshi prevents a takedown attempt there.
Austin wants to get back to striking at distance but Takeshi won't allow it.
Takeshi misses with a punch to the body.
Austin tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Takeshi just stands there and leans against the ropes.

Takeshi lands a left hand that snaps the head of Austin backwards.

Austin turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Austin tries to advance to mount but Takeshi denies him.
Austin is breathing heavily.
What's Takeshi going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle.

Austin working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Austin is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Takeshi knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Takeshi manages to get back to half guard.
Austin is looking to advance position but Takeshi won't allow it.
Austin prevents Takeshi from improving his position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Austin fails to land the takedown.
Takeshi will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Austin tries to land a front kick but Takeshi steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Takeshi clinches.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Takeshi is pressed up against the ropes. Austin has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Takeshi down to the mat. Takeshi avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Austin takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Takeshi rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Austin moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kazuya Takeshi dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Austin connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Austin throws a sloppy head kick and Takeshi moves out of range easily.
Austin tries to land a front kick but Takeshi steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Takeshi blocks a jab.
Takeshi stuffs the takedown.

Austin closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Austin lands in his opponent's guard.

Austin throws and elbow that misses. Takeshi uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Austin's guard. Nice move by Takeshi!
Takeshi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Austin swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Austin wants to sweep but no luck.

Austin had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Takeshi is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Austin Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Takeshi's back instead.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Takeshi rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Austin is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Takeshi regains full guard. Nicely done.
Austin looking to sit in guard and control but Takeshi gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Takeshi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Austin swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Austin is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Takeshi works over Austin's head and body with a nice combination.
Austin shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Takeshi but Takeshi pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Austin fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Austin throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Takeshi sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Takeshi's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Takeshi duly obliges.
Austin looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Takeshi is fending him off so far but Austin persists. Nope, Takeshi circles away and we're back to standing.

and Austin decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Takeshi's guard.
Austin will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Austin tries to free his leg and advance position but Takeshi is retaining full guard.

Austin drops back looking for a leg! Takeshi is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Takeshi manages to kick Austin off! Austin jumps back into Takeshi's guard.
Steve Austin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Takeshi takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Austin drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Takeshi dives on top into guard.
Austin looking to hit a scissor sweep but Takeshi is one step ahead there.

Takeshi avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Austin manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Takeshi manages to get himself to full guard.

Austin drops back, looking for a kneebar! Takeshi looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Takeshi looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Takeshi!
Austin is looking to regain half guard here but Takeshi keeps moving and retains side control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Takeshi is pressing down on Austin's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Austin is looking to improve his position but Takeshi isn't that keen on the idea.

Steve Austin showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Austin has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
