Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Reese (ranked 24756 p4p, 6476 weight class) and Jack Hammer (ranked 639 p4p, 604 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Reese!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jack Hammer!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice uppercut lands for Hammer. That snapped Reese's head back.

Reese takes the fight into the clinch.
Hammer should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Hammer is fighting off a takedown attempt but Reese is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Hammer to the mat. Hammer regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Hammer is wriggling around but Reese manages to pass to half guard.

Reese is controlling the pace.
Reese wants to stand up but Hammer is controlling the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Reese is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hammer defends it well.

Reese is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Hammer doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Reese.
Reese is taking a breather. Hammer says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Reese is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Hammer can't fight it off and eventually Reese manages to take the fight to the floor. Hammer looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
John Reese overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Reese is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hammer can do to turn this around?

Hammer lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Hammer has managed to clinch.
Reese has Hammer pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Hammer manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Hammer.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to John Reese.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Reese, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
