The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Childress drops Nastyboy with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Nastyboy looks back up at him and smiles so Childress waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

It looks like Jerry Nastyboy has been cut.

Childress has managed to clinch.
Childress blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Childress has Nastyboy pressed against the cage, preventing Nastyboy from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Childress creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Nastyboy is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Nastyboy breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Childress enables Nastyboy to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Childress manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Nastyboy throws an elbow that misses. Childress uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Nastyboy's guard. Nice move by Childress !

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Nastyboy can do anything to dispel that myth.

Childress tries to free his leg and advance position but Nastyboy is retaining full guard.

Childress has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Childress throws a hook but Nastyboy avoids it easily.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Childress lands with a short punch from the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Nastyboy's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Nastyboy is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Childress is defending well.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Childress takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Nastyboy is working for takedown but Childress is calmly controlling the position for now.
Childress lands with a left to the head.
Childress prevents Nastyboy from breaking the clinch.

Childress gets through Nastyboy's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Still in the clinch, Childress scores with a nice short uppercut.
Childress blocks an elbow strike.
Nastyboy changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Childress fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Angel Childress has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jerry Nastyboy.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
