And in the blue corner, fighting out of London, with a TWGC record of 12 wins and 12 losses; Jarkko Kilpi!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Eddie Farnsworth and Joseph Jones.


The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Camp shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kilpi as he jumps to the side.
And Kilpi tries to counter it with a takedown but Camp pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Camp misses with a takedown

and Kilpi counters with a nice double leg into side control. Camp won't be happy with that.

Camp is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at The Proving Grounds, so we'll see if he gets out of it.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Camp can't do much from the bottom here.
Kilpi in side control, just content to control the action for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Camp slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

Kilpi is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Camp is just riding it out for now. Kilpi eventually gives up the hold.

Kilpi is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Camp has managed to free his arm - good work.
Camp keeping hold of Kilpi's head, controlling as best he can.
My spies in Shut Up & Train! {$1000} inform me that Kilpi has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Camp wants to control but Kilpi is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Camp is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kilpi pulls his head out easily.
Camp moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Kilpi wants to control from the top but Camp keeps moving.
Kilpi might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Camp haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Camp had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kilpi defends it easily.
Kilpi advances position into side control!

Camp tries to hold on but Kilpi postures up.
Kilpi is stalling here but it's allowed Camp to get half guard.

Kilpi is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Camp defends it well.
Camp is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Camp is pressing down on Kilpi's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Kilpi trying to control the position from guard on top but Camp is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Camp has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kilpi can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Kilpi wants to pass the guard but Camp is keeping the position.

Camp is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Kilpi rolls with it to try and escape but Camp cranks on the arm and Kilpi is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 7:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). JW Camp!
