The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brutus bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Brutus really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bundy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Brutus decides to stand up, so the ref orders Bundy to his feet.

Brutus gets to his feet. Bundy looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Brutus shoots for a double leg takedown but Bundy sprawls well. He's pushed Brutus's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Bundy is trying desperately to improve position.

Brutus swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Bundy is now in Brutus's guard. A big mistake from Brutus there, giving up the dominant position!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Brutus can do anything to dispel that myth.

Bundy has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Brutus is proving hard to escape from.

Bundy stands up and waves to Brutus to follow him.
Brutus fails to land the takedown.
King Bundy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brock Brutus.
Brutus shoots in but Bundy avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Bundy stalks Brutus and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Brutus's face. Brutus staggers backwards, shaken.

Brock Brutus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Brutus has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Bundy celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
