Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Hershel Green!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rodrigo La Rocha!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Paul Tew and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from La Rocha is defended easily by Green.
Green defends well against a solid takedown attempt from La Rocha.

A momentary lapse in concentration from La Rocha enables Green to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. La Rocha manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

La Rocha manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
A left hand lands to the body for Green.
La Rocha has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Green is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Hershel Green has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rodrigo La Rocha.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Green scores with a shoulder strike.
La Rocha is trying to break the clinch but Green has him pressed against the cage.
La Rocha misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Green jumps into guard, dragging La Rocha to the mat.

Green had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. La Rocha defends it easily.
La Rocha throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Green works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Green wants to control the position but La Rocha says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

La Rocha is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Green is just riding it out for now. La Rocha eventually gives up the hold.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Green is staying active underneath La Rocha, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Green on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Green tries to get out of the position.
Green tries to roll over but La Rocha keeps him under control.
La Rocha wants to pass the guard but Green is defending well.
Green pushes La Rocha off looking to stand but La Rocha dives back in and keeps control.
La Rocha lands strikes from half guard.

La Rocha stops Green from getting back to his feet.
Green knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for La Rocha on the ground.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with La Rocha in particular looking to stall.
Green has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. La Rocha is working away from the top position though.
Green is looking to escape.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Green dodges the punch combination from La Rocha.
Green feinted with a counter takedown.

Green shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. La Rocha manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

La Rocha is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Green lands a good knee to the midsection. La Rocha won't want to take too many of those.

Green tightens his grip and picks La Rocha up, before dumping him to the ground. La Rocha manages to land in guard.

La Rocha kicks Green off and gets to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Green fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with La Rocha, pushing him back against the cage.

La Rocha is fighting off a takedown attempt but Green is just too persistent for him and manages to trip La Rocha to the mat. La Rocha regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

La Rocha uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Green stuffs the takedown attempt from La Rocha. La Rocha gets slowly back to his feet.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Rodrigo La Rocha dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!

La Rocha misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Green dives in and scores a takedown into La Rocha's guard.
Green trying to control the position from guard on top but La Rocha is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
La Rocha lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Green keeping moving, preventing La Rocha from controlling successfully.
Green is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Green wants to sweep but no luck.

Green wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Green wants to stand up but La Rocha is controlling him.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

La Rocha is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Green looking for a kimura from the bottom but La Rocha passes into side control!
Green tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
Green is trying desperately to improve position.
La Rocha trying to control but Green is having none of it.

La Rocha prevents Green from getting the reversal.
Green tries to hold on but La Rocha pushes him away.

La Rocha with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Green looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!

A lull in the action here.
La Rocha avoiding Green 's attempts to control his hands.
La Rocha wants to control but Green is keeping busy.
Green can't escape the position.
