PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cesar Perez (ranked 5764 p4p, 5753 weight class) and Rocky Balboa (ranked 0 p4p, 597 weight class). Perez comes into the arena with Gangsta's Paradise blaring out of the sound system. Perez has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Cesar Perez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rocky Balboa!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Percy O'Donnell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Balboa takes a swing at Perez's ribcage but misses.
Perez is looking to counter the offense by Balboa and move into the clinch.

Balboa rushes Perez and presses him up against the cage.
Perez goes for a takedown attempt but Balboa pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Balboa clinches with his opponent.
Perez takes an elbow to the temple.

It looks like Cesar Perez has been cut.

Perez has clasped his hands together around Balboa's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Perez working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Perez is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Balboa is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

We've been informed that Balboa has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
A jab from Balboa finds it's way through Perez's defenses.

Perez tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Balboa manages to circle out of the way.

Rocky Balboa seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.

Balboa digs a right hand into Perez's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Perez's gas tank.
Balboa pushes Perez back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Balboa presses Perez against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Balboa breaks from the clinch.
Balboa lands a lovely overhand right.

Perez is rocked!

Balboa darts in and clinches Perez up against the cage.
Oh Perez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Balboa lands a big right hand that drops Perez! The killer instinct kicks in and Balboa finishes his opponent with a series of strikes from mount. A dominating finish by Balboa!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rocky Balboa!
Cesar Perez spoke after the fight, saying 'I'm not a kickboxer so I'm going to lose to a kickboxer. I'm not a wrestler, my wrestling sucks, so I'm going to lose to a wrestler'.
