Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Guy River (ranked 727 p4p, 4043 weight class) and Dee DeVon (ranked 98 p4p, 463 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think River might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Gabon National Anthem. DeVon has chosen After the Smoke is Clear as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Guy River has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
River throws a series of punches but DeVon avoids them all with ease.
River on the wrong end of a nice jab.
DeVon dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

and DeVon counters with a shoot takedown. River fights it but they end up in guard.
DeVon trying to control the position from guard on top but River is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

DeVon drops back, looking for a kneebar! River looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. River looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from River!

River throws a chopping leg kick but DeVon manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

DeVon throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. River was covering up waiting for the punch and DeVon finishes the takedown easily into guard.

DeVon stands up over River, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

DeVon looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! River has picked DeVon up and slammed him! DeVon can't keep hold of the triangle and River manages to pass to side control!

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

DeVon throws a hook to the side of River's head but River sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

DeVon shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with River but River pushes him off and we're back to square one.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

DeVon has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
River throws an uppercut from half a mile away. DeVon sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Dee DeVon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

River lands a big right hand that sends DeVon crashing to the mat! River stays standing though and waves DeVon back to his feet!

River throws a sloppy head kick and DeVon moves out of range easily.

River drops his hands momentarily and DeVon takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
DeVon lands with an uppercut that bounces River off the cage and back into range.
River plants his feet and throws a brutal three punch combo that sends DeVon swiftly into unconsciousness! Right, left, right! Boom, boom, boom! DeVon face plants, battered and bloodied! He might never be the same again after that finish!
