Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cayden Abner (ranked 1384 p4p, 824 weight class) and Roc Le Phat (ranked 204 p4p, 126 weight class). Abner comes to the cage accompanied by Bulls On Parade. Le Phat has chosen Bonita Applebum as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Cayden Abner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Roc Le Phat!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Abner moves into range and clinches up with Le Phat.
Abner lands a shoulder strike.

Abner escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Abner scores with a kick to the body.
Abner bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Le Phat takes the fight into the clinch.
A right hook to the body lands for Abner.
Abner has a couple of punches blocked by Le Phat.
Abner lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Le Phat tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Abner has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Le Phat avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Le Phat working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Abner working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Le Phat doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Le Phat manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Le Phat is nestled in close to Abner, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Le Phat lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Le Phat seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Donk. Abner catches Le Phat right on the button with a cross.
Abner throws a leg kick which misses Le Phat's front leg but catches the back leg as Le Phat tries to avoid it.
Abner misses with a hook.
Abner moves out of range of the strikes.
Le Phat tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Abner paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Le Phat throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Abner, as that shot connected.
Le Phat throws an overhand right that lands on Abner's shoulder, as Abner tries to avoid the shot.

Abner drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Abner tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Abner works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Abner is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Le Phat is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Abner passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Le Phat!
Cayden Abner overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Le Phat is looking for a sweep. Abner is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Le Phat is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Abner's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Abner's back!

Abner shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Cayden Abner.
Well Abner has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
