Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shug Skinner (ranked 1292 p4p, 802 weight class) and Liam Murphy (ranked 179 p4p, 114 weight class). Murphy is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: I'm Shipping Up To Boston- Dropkick Murphy's. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 1, fighting out of London, Shug Skinner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Liam Murphy!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Colin Fotheringham and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murphy is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Murphy shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Murphy might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Skinner haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Skinner has his foot on Murphy's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Murphy works his way back into a safe position though.

Horrible takedown attempt by Murphy or perhaps it was just good defense by Skinner, which made it look bad.
Shug Skinner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Liam Murphy.
Murphy moves forwards but Skinner connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Murphy shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Skinner as he avoids it easily.
Skinner throws a looping overhand right but Murphy ducks down to avoid it.

and Skinner counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Murphy tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Murphy uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Skinner.

Murphy closes the distance and pushes Skinner back into the cage.

Murphy dives in for a single leg takedown but Skinner sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Skinner lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - Murphy can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from Skinner and Murphy drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by Skinner.
