PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Boxing Powerhous (ranked 24369 p4p, 3337 weight class) and Major Pain (ranked 170 p4p, 82 weight class). Powerhous is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. Boxing Powerhous is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Boxing Powerhous!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Major Pain!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Gwen Towbar and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pain throws the kick towards the body but Powerhous avoids it.
Powerhous is breathing heavily.
Pain pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Powerhous back to the cage. Pain follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Pain misses with an attempted mid kick.
Pain tries to score a power double leg takedown but Powerhous sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Pain somewhat.

Pain closes the distance and clinches.
A frustrated look appears on Pain's face as he tries to break the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pain has Powerhous pressed against the cage.
The referee is keeping an eye on Pain - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Pain continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up.

Pain manages to break the clinch.

Pain has closed the distance and engaged Powerhous in a clinch.
Pain misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Powerhous.
Pain is trying to break the clinch but Powerhous has him pressed against the cage.
Pain drops down looking for an ankle pick but Powerhous pulls his leg out and moves away.
Powerhous rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Pain moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Pain fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Powerhous avoids it really well and circles away.
Powerhous seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Boxing Powerhous has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Major Pain.

Pain gets a double leg takedown into Powerhous's guard.
Powerhous looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pain passes Powerhous's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Powerhous keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Pain stalling.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pain works his foot free and advances to mount.
Powerhous on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Powerhous tries to get out of the position.
Pain takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Pain stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Pain has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Powerhous is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Pain wants to break free but Powerhous has control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Powerhous gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Pain.
Pain has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Powerhous jumps guard but Pain turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Pain has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Powerhous has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Pain throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.

Pain is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Major Pain showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Pain changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Powerhous tries to avoid it but Pain manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Powerhous to the ground. Powerhous escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Powerhous keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Powerhous is looking to counter the offense by Pain and move into the clinch.
Powerhous leaves Pain with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Pain is trying to drag Powerhous to the mat but Powerhous just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Pain is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Powerhous is just riding it out for now. Pain eventually gives up the hold.

Well Pain has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
