Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sickle Cell (ranked 24602 p4p, 2449 weight class) and Trek Shek (ranked 626 p4p, 292 weight class). Trek Shek is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sickle Cell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Trek Shek!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, John Kavanagh and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cell shoots for a double leg takedown but Shek sprawls well. He's pushed Cell's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Shek misses with a series of wild punches.
Cell is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Shek.
Shek looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Cell looks to clinch
and Shek cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Cell's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Shek connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Cell scrambles back to his feet.

It looks like Sickle Cell has been cut.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Cell is defended easily by Shek.
Shek waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Cell.
Cell shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Shek counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sickle Cell. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shek throws a series of punches but Cell avoids them all with ease.
Cell throws a low kick but it's checked well by Shek.
Shek looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Cell misses with a takedown
and Shek connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Shek throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cell darts in looking for a takedown but Shek gets double underhooks and turns Cell into the cage.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Shek! But no joy.
Cell tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
A short right from Shek on the inside.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Cell tries for a takedown but Shek manages to get underhooks.
Cell blocks a body shot from Shek.
Shek scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Shek stops a takedown attempt from Cell.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Shek.
Shek lands with a right to the head.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Shek.

Shek manages to break the clinch.
Shek misses the jab.
Shek connects with a right hand. Cell shakes it off.
Cell shoots in looking for a takedown but Shek manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Cell's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Cell could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Shek misses with a straight right.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cell showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Shek.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A jab lands there for Shek.
Cell with a lazy takedown attempt
and Shek scores with a counter punch that sends Cell to the canvas! Shek smells blood - he's punishing Cell with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Cell has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Trek Shek!
Trek Shek decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
